The Florence Legacy

People deserve beautiful spaces.

The Florence Legacy is a brand that celebrates the past and creates the future. This professional sewing studio takes inspiration from its founder's multidisciplinary artist grandmother to create contemporary handcrafted fabric pieces. The identity of The Florence Legacy is both contemporary and traditional, conveying expertise and inspiring others to embrace their personal space. The challenge was to create a brand that felt fresh and respected its traditions and past-generation craft, while also providing a platform for people to interact with and acquire pieces that would enhance their space and bring depth to their lives. To achieve this, we used a flower as the central motif, representing Florence and her grandmother's name. The icon was developed by repeatedly playing around with Sumi ink on paper, resulting in a mark that portrays a sense of human presence. We paired this with Source Sans as a secondary type, providing stability and legibility to all the components. The color palette was inspired by fabric from the artist's studio, creating a direct connection to her craft. The result is a brand that is both timeless and modern, elegant and approachable. It is a brand that celebrates the past, creates the future, and inspires others to embrace their personal space.
